In the healthcare industry, doctors are overstretched in terms of both the time and care they offer for patients. To make it simple and manageable for doctors and overcome this challenge, Medloop is offering a solution. The digital health startup aims to focus on making care delivery preventive instead of reactive.
Founded in 2018 by Shishir Singhee, Medloop provides thousands of patients with intuitive self-service features that let them navigate their care-pathway. The app provides patient-related services such as online appointment bookings, prescription refills, electronic medical results, and interactive chat functionality.
Raises €6M funding
Now, Medloop has announced that it has raised €6 million funding from Kamet Ventures and AXA. With this investment, the digital health startup aims to enhance its product portfolio. Also, it will use the investment to leverage the existing infrastructure of the company and expand its offering to help doctors deliver preventive care in the UK and Germany.
Medloop founder and CEO Shishir Singhee said, “Healthcare today has become increasingly impersonalised as ever-growing patient registers have made it challenging for doctors to treat patients in a bespoke way. Medloop strives to bridge this critical gap, by employing technology to empower patients and help doctors deliver proactive and holistic care.“
Stephane Guinet, CEO of Kamet Ventures said, “It is no secret how overstretched doctors are in terms of the time and care they can offer each patient. Medloop’s offering is a novel solution to this challenge and we are very excited to be part of Medloop’s growth story given how critical its offering is to the UK market and beyond.”
EMIS compatible!
To enter the UK, Medloop achieved the EMIS compatibility last summer. For the uninitiated, EMIS is the largest of the four major principal clinical systems in the UK supplying healthcare software solutions to more than half of NHS General Practice surgeries.
Nearly 33 million patients in the UK are registered with EMIS-powered surgeries. They can simply download the Medloop app and connect using unique linkage keys that were provided by their doctor.
Develops new tool
Medloop is developing an evidence-based medical rule engine that is embedded on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of patients. Its tool will let doctors obtain a risk-stratified view of their patients and optimise patient care proactively to get better outcomes.
Recently, the digital health startup was awarded a place in the GP IT Futures framework by the NHS. It solidifies its position in the UK by letting it to be centrally procured by the CCGs (Clinical Commission Groups) across the UK.
