Back in July 2018, Silicon Canals did an exclusive that Dutch software scaleup Instant Magazine is planning to rebrand itself and now the company has officially announced that it has changed the name to Foleon. Known for its creative platform for building as well as publishing immersive web content, the name change is accompanied by a refreshed visual identity, product improvements, and a broader vision encouraging users that “It’s okay to show off.
Why Foleon?
The platform of Instant Magazine has been subjected to continuous developments. Eventually, its name no longer covers the diversity of its use cases. Initially, Instant Magazine was used to create online magazines but now it is used to create several marketing and communication assets such as white papers, microsites, internal newsletters and interactive brochures.
Regarding the rebranding, Daan Reijnders, co-founder and CEO of Foleon, “The new name, Foleon, is derived from ‘Folio’ and ‘Portfolio’. The ‘on’ is powerful and stands for interactive and online.” The platform is used by over 1,300 organisations as of now. And, the company has scaled at a rapid pace with nearly 100 employees in offices across Amsterdam, London and New York City.
“Our ambition is to become the international standard for interactive web content,” says Reijnders. “We want to offer the creative suite for building all content that you previously produced in print or PDF. We also want to help our clients create relevant content that is visually immersive, media-rich, and looks great on any device. All publications are measurable, giving our users valuable insights into reader behavior, and allowing them to better tailor their content to their target group.”
New templates and dashboard
Along with the new name, Foleon has also introduced a revamped dashboard with many new features that will help users create publications at faster rate, thanks to the professionally designed suite of templates. Other major upcoming product improvements include a template builder, user management, CRM integrations, a chart builder and more.
Established in 2013 by Daan Reijnders and Joost Galama, the company has a wide range of clients including PwC, KPMG, Philips, Disney and more. Back in 2018, the company started focusing on scaling up in the US, the UK and Europe and more regions.
Partnership with Bynder
As intended, it teamed up with Bynder, a renowned digital asset management platform to develop a new integration to make it easier for services and customers. This integration is meant to help Foleon users stay organised and manage their time by letting them access hosted files directly from the media library.
