Last update:

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has recently announced its support for the new European Bauhaus initiative with a budget of €5M for 2021 and 2022.

Launched by the European Commission, the New European Bauhaus translates the European Green Deal into a tangible and positive experience in which all Europeans can participate and progress together.

EIT Community Booster

In a bid to create sustainable and inclusive Europe, EIT announced the launch of the ‘EIT Community Booster’ to support innovative ventures and teams enabling the New European Bauhaus transformation.

A joint initiative of the EIT Community, including EIT Digital (lead coordinator), EIT Climate-KIC, EIT Food, EIT Urban Mobility, and EIT Manufacturing, twenty companies will be selected as part of the new booster.

The selected companies will receive business growth support worth €1M in grants and services designed to help them accelerate their business to the next level.

Three core dimensions

In order to foster the New European Bauhaus transformation, the EIT Community is looking for the most innovative ventures driving sustainable change for cities, industries, climate, food, wellbeing and overall quality of life in order to support their business growth and help them become the international game-changers.

- A message from our partner -

The EIT Community Booster is set to identify and support startups and scaleups integrating the three core dimensions of the New European Bauhaus:

  • Sustainability (from climate goals to circularity, zero pollution, and biodiversity)
  • Aesthetics (quality of experience and style, beyond functionality)
  • Inclusion (from valorising diversity to securing accessibility and affordability)

Gioia Ghezzi, Chair of the EIT Governing Board, says “The EIT Community contributes to all aspects of the New European Bauhaus and has the ecosystem in place to find exciting ideas and startups from across Europe. We can’t wait to discover and scale the creative and

innovative solutions that will help reimagine sustainable living and make living spaces more beautiful and affordable!”

Business growth programmes

EIT Community booster also combines the best business growth programmes offered by EIT Digital, EIT Climate, EIT Food, EIT Manufacturing, and EIT Urban Mobility.
