Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk usually takes to social media, preferably the micro-blogging site Twitter to launch products, make promises, connect with fans, and troll someone. He leaves us no choice but to admire him, especially his Twitter account.
2FA coming soon!
If the new tweets from Elon Musk are to be believed, the Two-factor authentication for the Tesla app is coming sooner than you think. Back in April, the SpaceX CEO said the additional layer of protection through an SMS or authenticator code would be “coming soon.”
However, on this Musk responded, saying, “Sorry, this is embarrassingly late. Two-factor authentication via sms or authenticator app is going through final validation right now.” Going by this tweet, we can expect the 2FA very soon, even though there is no exact information on the arrival.
Crucial to the Tesla app
It’s worth mentioning that the security on the Tesla app is vital since it is a critical tool that gives owners control over numerous functions in their vehicles. This includes vehicle lock/unlock the doors, trunk, and frunk, allows drivers to use their phone as a key, turning on the HVAC system, and more.
Extra security layer
To reiterate, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Two-step verification is a security process in which users provide two different authentication factors to prove themselves. This adds an extra layer of security, making it harder for attackers to gain access to a person’s devices or online accounts.
Automated detection feature
On the other hand, Tesla will soon detect bad roads and potholes with its automated detection feature. In a reply to one of his followers, Musk said, “We’re labeling bumps & potholes, so the car can slow down or steer around them when safe to do so.”
Right now, Tesla is developing a Neural Network training computer called Dojo to process a vast amount of video data. He also appealed to AI and computer/chip experts to join the team that is developing Dojo.
Apart from the supercomputer, Tesla is also working on making the horn honk like a goat. However, it will be available only in feature cars.
