Knowledge migrant

In the past 10 years, about 100,000 highly skilled migrants have come to the Netherlands (source CBS). Research indicates that 8 out of 10 of this group (source Intelligence Group) want to settle permanently in the Netherlands. This concerns a definitive new group of highly educated knowledge workers on the labor market with specific wishes, ambitions and regulations. This requires extra knowledge, new networks and additional insights. That is why this event is aimed at this target group, especially interesting for people working in Recruitment, HRM, Global mobility, Management and the highly skilled migrant him/her self.

Theme of the event: Cultural Intelligence.

Which factors contribute to and maintain the effectiveness of intercultural interactions? Effective expatriate performance, global leadership, and multicultural team processes are all predicted by Cultural Intelligence (CQ). Ariane Hoekstra (MSc), Assistant Professor of Business Studies at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, discusses the importance of CQ in organizations with a multicultural environment, what it is and how it can be developed. Boom Chicago (stand-up comedy) will shed light on the life of the highly skilled migrant in the Netherlands. Also there’s a Walk & Talk with Legal, Housing, Tax & Job advisors, followed by a network party.
