Last update:

Time is in favour of the sports tech companies in Europe right now as there are numerous companies across the continent that work with the intention to bring about a change in the sector. Almost all bustling tech startup hubs in Europe have a slew of sports tech startups like the other categories and France is no exception. Of the many French sports tech startups, team management platform Esports Management is a notable mention.

Founded in 2017 by Alexandre Amoukteh, Guillaume Golfieri, and Mike M. Hessabi in Nice, Esports Management wants to create a place for everyone to forge their own path, improve their skills, and connect amateur players with the experts. Alexandre Amoukteh, co-founder at the company wants to achieve the same with its new name, new product, and funding.

Nicecactus is the name!

The team management gaming platform has been rebranded from Esports Management to Nicecactus.gg. Its new name reflects the love for the French city Nice, which is a sharp, beautiful, and bright location in the country.

Raises €5M funding

The rebranded gaming platform Nicecactus.gg has secured $5.5 million (nearly €5 million) from a group of private investors. With the investment, the French startup will build a platform to enable semi-pro and amateur esports athletes to improve their skills and win sponsors. Furthermore, Nicecactus.gg is creating a grassroots esports sponsorship fund with $1.1 million.

Training game programs on tow!

After a specific training period on the platform, the fund will accept applications for grants from esports athletes. Once Nicecactus reviews each application, it will award grants to those who have shown consistency in tournaments.

As per the schedule, the registrations for the Nicecactus Grassroots Esports Fund debuted on October 22 via nicecactus.gg/en/fund. On December 22, the road to Sponsorship opens for registered participants. The fund application process will open for eligible candidates on January 27. finally, on February 27, the first grants should disappear.

Premium subscription includes tournaments

The platform provides both freemium and premium subscription services to its users. With the latter, users can access pro-player-authored guides, premium tournaments, and coaching sessions. Tournaments hosted on its platform can be sponsored either by game publishers with the intention to strengthen grassroots community and professional organisations seeking fresh talent.

Works with competitive titles

Nicecactus works across several leading competitive titles, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and FIFA. Notably, there are industry-leading competitive brands, including DreamHack, G2 Esports, AS Monaco and Magic Gaming to offer a supportive environment for the development and professional growth of every gamer.
