Last update:

It is time for another overview of promising accelerator programs for Dutch startups. DutchBasecamp, Startupbootcamp and the World Startup Factory will be hosting events in 2017.

DutchBasecamp’s programs

DutchBasecamp’s community is growing rapidly and they have announced that they already have over 100 international mentors in different tech-hubs over the world. Besides this amount they have 12 ( a number that is still growing) coaches in the Netherlands to help startups set up their internationalization strategy. Interestingly enough, these coaches and mentors generally are experienced founders themselves. DutchBasecamp is all about connecting founders to other founders. The startup accelerator has been helping startups scale internationally since 2013 by building and ultimately validating their internationalization strategies.

DutchBasecamp will be hosting two programs. First up will be the Interreg Lean Landing program on August 25th, which will help 11 scaleUps expand to Northern Europe. This will also be made possible by StartupAmsterdam. August will end with the start of their Cape Town bootcamp.

World Startup Factory’s Impact Accelerator 2017

World Startup Factory’s (top image) main drive is to accelerate the growth of ventures who focus on future solutions with positive impact. Gerrit Jan van ‘t Veen, co-founder of World Startup Factory, stated the following: “The customer today is more curious about what impact a certain product makes on the outside world, what are the possible consequences of using it. It revolutionizes the approach to doing business. Startups that align solutions with global goals can be more competitive.”

The program is developed in cooperation with The City of The Hague, The Hague Security Delta, Health Valley Netherlands, SPIE, KPN and many other local or international partners. The startup accelerator invites startups to boost the Dutch impact economy and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Startups that are encouraged to apply are active in one or more of the following five fields: Health & Ageing, Smart City, Future Mobility, Healthy & Circular Buildings, and Security.

World Startup Factory also acknowledges a notable trend to business with a purpose. As the recent United Nations report “Financing for Development: Progress and Prospects, 2017” shows, increased innovation in sectors aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals has been proven to be the key to economic growth.

- A message from our partner -

World Startup Factory’s Impact Accelerator will begin August 17th. The startups can apply anytime between 30 May and 15 September 2017.  Note that the applications are on a roll-out basis. The sooner you apply, the sooner you get to see results, receive feedback, and ultimately begin.

Startupbootcamp’s selection days: FinTech & CyberSecurity

During their 2-day event, the top 20 teams will be evaluated by mentors after they have been selected out of the 500+ applications received from all around the world. The teams will be ending with a big celebration at Demo Day on the 9th of February 2018.

So how will the teams participate? The teams will initially pitch their ideas on stage. Then a group of mentors will meet each team in person during 20-minute sessions. after each meeting, each team will be evaluated by the group of mentors.
