Amsterdam-based Just Eat Takeaway.com, an online food delivery marketplace, announced on Friday that it has teamed up with British supermarket chain Co-op to offer on-demand online grocery delivery across the nation.

Shoppers can now order thousands of products from ready meals to store cupboard essentials from Co-op for delivery in under 30 minutes through the Just Eat app and website.

Just Eat says it will take care of the delivery through its growing network of couriers across the UK.

Initially, the partnership will offer services in 50 stores early next year and is expected to roll out to 1,000 Co-op stores by Spring 2023.

Chris Conway, eCommerce Director at Co-op, says, “Co-op stores are well placed in local communities to provide quick, easy, and convenient home deliveries – whether a full shop or last-minute top-ups. We are committed to exploring new and innovative ways to increase access to our products and services. With our members and customers leading busy lives, ease, speed, and convenience are a cornerstone of our approach. We are delighted to announce our partnership with Just Eat, enabling Co-op to ‘deliver’ further flexible options online with increased choice and availability in our communities, however and whenever our customers choose to shop with us.”

The announcement comes a month after announcing a partnership with Turkish grocery delivery company Getir across Europe.
