At present, the workplace revolution is driven by digital workplace transformation and supported by various technology services. Based out of London, OpenSensors is one such startup that provides data-driven workplace transformation solutions.
This UK-based IoT startup claims to help companies create the safest and most efficient path back to the office for company leaders and employees.
Raised €3.3M
Recently, the UK company raised $4M (approx €3.3M) funding in a seed round led by Crane Venture Partners. The company will be using the funding to support international demand and build roll-out products and help customers reopen offices.
Yodit Stanton, CEO, and founder of OpenSensors comments: “OpenSensors was founded to use data to measure, understand and improve the world around us. How we work and live are changing faster than we could have ever anticipated. There is a real opportunity for humanity to rethink how we use the physical world with sustainability in mind as well as making the design of workplaces better for people using them. Businesses need an efficient way to gather data about their office buildings to manage capacity so employees can return to the workplace safely and rethink design based on need rather than the status quo.”
Founded by Malcolm Sparks, and Yodit Stanton, OpenSensor has built a scalable real-time IoT messaging engine that can easily process millions of messages a second from any internet-connected device. The company measures air quality and space utilisation to help organisations return to work safely using sensors to monitor workspaces.
How OpenSensor was born?
Yodit Stanton, founded OpenSensors while researching how environmental factors affected her daughter’s asthma. Eventually, she realised that even inexpensive sensors could measure environmental health and air quality, such as CO2 and light intensity to understand and improve indoor spaces.
