Last update:

London-based Emma is a personal finance management app, which is touted to be the best financial friend. Founded in 2018 by Antonio Marino and Edoardo Moreni, the Emma app connects to users’ bank accounts and crypto wallets to help plan the budget, track expenses, and save money.

The app works with the intention to help users understand how much money they have left to spend till their next payday, track as well as find unnecessary subscriptions and get alerts to avoid going into the bank’s overdraft.

Secures €2.23M funding

The personal finance management app Emma has secured $2.5 million (nearly €2.23 million) seed funding led by Connect Ventures along with participation from Ithaca Investments, Tiny.vc, and existing investor Aglaé Ventures.

This investment comes after the $700k (nearly €625k) angel funding it secured back in June 2018. With the recent funding, Emma is in plans to double its team and attract one million users. Also, it will build a plethora of incredible features for its users.

In two years since its launch, the company has been able to attract over 200,000 people who use it as their everyday money management tool. This success has helped the company launch its service in the US and Canada in June 2019.

Emma: The financial therapist

Given that a majority of the mental health issues that prevail in the world are due to financial problems, Emma is defining a new category called financial therapy. The mission of this finance management app is to remove anxiety regarding money issues.

There’s a Pro version too!

The London-based finance management app Emma also offers a paid subscription version called Emma Pro. This app lets you do additional things such as create custom categories, export users’ data between specified time ranges, add emojis to custom categories, create manual transactions, create manual accounts in any currency, and split transactions.
