Last update:

London-based Treefera, an AI startup for supply chain resilience, announced that it has secured $30M (approximately €26.3M) in a Series B funding round led by Notion Capital.

Based out of London, Notion Capital is a European B2B SaaS and Cloud VC firm with over $1B in assets under management and more than 100 investments. The team previously founded, built, and exited SaaS companies Star and MessageLabs.

The firm invests in founders aiming to build global category leaders, with portfolio companies including GoCardless, Mews, Paddle, Unbabel, and YuLife. Notion also founded Included VC, a fellowship supporting individuals from diverse and overlooked communities in venture capital.

“Treefera’s team has built a category-defining platform at the intersection of AI, data, and supply chain transparency,” says Patrick Norris, General Partner at Notion Capital.

“In less than a year, Treefera has established itself as the trusted partner for enterprises navigating supply chain risks and carbon obligations. We are thrilled to be leading this round and supporting their vision to make resilient, decarbonised supply chains the global standard, underpinned by an approach that champions efficiency without compromise,” adds Norris.

Others, including AlbionVC, Triple Point and Twin Path Ventures – and Endeit Capital, also joined the round.

The announcement comes over a year after raising €11.18M in a Series A round led by AlbionVC.

Fund utilisation

The new funding will help Treefera improve its AI capabilities and data services while expanding into North America, APAC, and Europe.

Upcoming features include real-time tracking of commodities, better geospatial analytics, and automated compliance with regulations.

As environmental changes and regulations increase, the first mile, where goods are sourced, has become a major risk for global supply chains.

More than 60 per cent of supply chain problems and costs start in these areas, yet they are often difficult to see and understand.

Treefera: Building resilience through first-mile visibility

Treefera was founded by husband-and-wife team Jonathan Horn and Caroline Grey, motivated by the need for greater transparency and accountability in global supply chains.

“Our world runs on nature-based commodities, yet information on the physical source of these assets remains largely invisible to the systems that depend on them,” said Jonathan Horn, Founder and CEO of Treefera.

Powered by a proprietary AI-enabled data fabric to analyze both spatial and temporal data, Treefera delivers real-time sourcing, risk, and compliance insights at unparalleled speed and accuracy.

This process turns scattered and hard-to-reach data into real-time, useful information.

“Data informs the flow of capital, and at Treefera we equip enterprises with the clarity to strengthen supply chain resilience, secure future revenue, and scale the upside of regenerative practices. With defensible real-time insights on commodities, ingredients, and carbon from the first-mile, businesses can not only have clearer sightlines into sourcing, but also mitigate risk and ensure compliance,” adds Horn.

The company’s technology has already supported enterprises across the energy, pharmaceutical, insurance, agriculture, and forestry industries, as well as global professional services.

Key clients include Amazon Rainforest Conservation, Royal Family Farms, Kita, Anew, ACCIONA, and Maple Credits.

As per the company’s claims, its platform provides customers visibility into the origin, flow, and health of critical commodities, enabling faster project validation and improved supply chain integrity.
