In Europe, there are a slew of online grocery delivery startups and Supermercato24 is one of them. Founded in 2014 by Federico Sargenti, this Italian startup lets customers and personal grocery shoppers in the locality.
Raises €11M funding
Supermercato24 has secured €11 million funding from DIP along with existing investors such as 360 Capital Partners, Innogest, and FII Tech Growth. With this investment, the online grocery delivery startup aims to expand within Italy, Poland, and other parts of Europe.
Also, it will use the investment to solidify its dominant position in its home country Italy and boost international expansion. Recently, Supermercato24 launched its service in Poland and rolled out additional services for retailers. Also, it entered into solid partnerships with leading European retailers.
Leading online grocery delivery player
Supermercato24 is one of the leaders in the online grocery delivery market in Europe. It lets customers have all their groceries handpicked and delivered from their favourite supermarket at the same in-store price on the same day. With this platform, retailers can sell their groceries faster and seamlessly online without any upfront investment costs.
Furthermore, it is a user-friendly, easy-to-use platform that lets easy integration with various stores, retailers, products, pickup and delivery processes, and multiple payment systems. It has nearly 140 employees and three offices located in Milan, Verona, and Warsaw.
Federico Sargenti, CEO of Supermercato24 said, “Our business has established a leadership position in Italy and we are now scaling internationally. We have just launched our service in Poland and we aim to expand geographically across Europe, while also launching new tools to serve our partner retailers and brands. The EU e-grocery market is in a key phase of growth and we want to lead the way by leveraging our technology and innovative business model.”
