Amsterdam-based Recharge.com, a provider of branded payment solutions, announced that it has introduced a new business-to-business service for corporate gifting.
The company says that the service allows companies to buy a selected assortment of prepaid items, such as gift cards and prepaid cards, in large quantities.
In addition to providing businesses with long-term cost savings, Recharge.com’s pilot B2B service aims to tackle packaging waste. By offering digital products in bulk, the service eliminates the need for physical packaging.
With a comprehensive catalogue featuring over 15,300 options from 800 renowned brands, businesses also have a diverse range of choices available to them.
Recharge CEO Günther Vogelpoel says, “This pilot B2B service is a testament to our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of businesses. The global corporate gifting industry grew to $242B in 2021, enabling employers to better support their employees.”
“We are excited to take our first steps in this space to offer a convenient and cost-effective solution for corporate gifting, empowering businesses to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction,” he adds.
He says that the pilot B2B service is an “opportunity to learn” and expand the company’s capabilities in this domain for future growth.
Recharge.com: Convenient payment options
Recharge.com is a website and mobile app that provides payment options for brands like Apple, Google, PlayStation, and Paysafe. It is an online store for various prepaid credits, including mobile top-ups, gift cards and entertainment subscriptions.
Recharge.com was founded in 2010 by Robin Weesie and Dirk Ueberbach to transform offline prepaid credit into an online top-up platform. At that time, the founders sold scratch cards from various brands online. In 2012, the company expanded to local brands in France, Germany and the UK.
Customers have the convenience to purchase or recharge prepaid cards for their use or send them as gifts to others. With a presence in over 140 countries worldwide, the website has amassed a user base of over one million.
In 2022, Recharge.com received a Gold award in the e-commerce category at the Dutch Interactive Awards (DIA) in collaboration with Soda, a digital product design agency. In the same year, Recharge.com also announced a partnership with Primer to strengthen its payment infrastructure for mobile and e-gift cards.
At the beginning of 2022, Recharge.com welcomed Freddy Dijkman as the new CFO, enhancing the team as it experiences rapid international growth. The company successfully expanded into Australia, introducing its Pay Now Buy Later approach to the market.
Recharge.com’s international expansion also has gained momentum with the launch of its one-stop-shop global marketplace. This development has garnered attention from renowned industry publications such as PYMNTS and The Paypers and local news leaders like Zawya in the Middle East.
Last month, Recharge.com extended its partnership with global branded payments provider Blackhawk Network (BHN) to offer digital gift cards through BHN’s expansive network of open and closed-loop card brands in the US and Canada.
