TIER Mobility (Berlin)
Founders: Lawrence Leuschner

Founded year: 2016
Why its hot: TIER Mobility was founded with the intention to change urban commuting with its e-scooter rentals that will ensure making it possible to reach the last mile. The company reduces pollution caused by urban commuters with e-scooters. In October 2019, the micro-mobility company secured around $60 million (nearly €55 million) in Series B funding round led by Mubadala Capital and Goodwater Capital.
Circ (Berlin)
Founders: Lukasz Gadowski, Carlos Bhola
Total Funding: €55 million
Founded year: 2018
Why its hot: German e-scooter service Flash was rebranded Circ. It sets itself different from the well-known e-scooter service providers as it designs and builds using out-of-the-box solutions. It is involved in the development of both technology and hardware for the same. Circ runs limited pilot programs in select countries and wants to expand across Europe. In January this year, Circ secured €55 million Series A funding led by Target Global alongside other participants such as Idinvest Partners, Signals Venture Capital, and other angel investors.
Wind Mobility (Berlin)
Founders: Eric Wang
Total Funding: €65 million
Founded year: 2017
Why its hot: Wind Mobility specialises in e-scooters and e-bike rentals and lets users unlock, park and pay for the dockless scooters via its app. Wind uses replaceable batteries to power its scooters so that these need not be collected at night for charging and this reduces maintenance costs. Wind Mobility secured $50 million (nearly €44.6 million) in Series A funding led by existing investors.
Wunder Mobility (Hamburg)
Founders: Gunnar Froh, Sam Baker
Total Funding: €61.8 million
Founded year: 2014
Why its hot: Wunder Mobility is a Hamburg-based fast-growing mobility startup providing turn-key solutions that let cities and countries provide a clean, accessible, and convenient mobility network. Wunder is all set to launch new mobility services, manage and finance fleets of shared vehicles, improve urban planning and traffic management, and optimise daily operations. In September 2019, Wunder Mobility secured $30 million (nearly €27 million) Series B funding from Blumberg Capital and KCK.
Cluno (Munich)
Founders: Nico Polleti, Christina Maria Polleti, Andreas Schuierer
Total Funding: €32.5 million
Founded year: 2017
Why its hot: Munich-based Cluno is also dubbed the Netflix of car subscriptions as it makes the cumbersome process simple. With this platform, users can book a car online for a fixed monthly cost including vehicle tax, warranty, registration, wear and tear, maintenance, etc. except for refuelling. In February this year, Cluno secured €25 million in series B financing round led by Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures. Later, in September, it raised €140 million in debt financing.
Finn.auto (Munich)

Why its hot: Finn.auto is an all-inclusive car subscription service offering fair and transparent return conditions that were launched in October 2019. It offers maximum flexibility letting users change or cancel their car any time. Just recently, Finn.auto secured €8.8 million seed funding led by HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, Heartcore Capital, UVC Partners, and existing investor Picus Capital.
MILES Mobility (Berlin)
Founders: Timo Nührich, Alexander Eitner, Florian Haus
Total Funding: €5 million
Founded year: 2016
Why its hot: MILES Mobility is a carsharing startup, which is quite different from the rest available in the space. It charges users based on the distance travelled and not time or traffic. In March this year, MILES Mobility raised €5 million Series A funding led by Lukasz Gadowski, the co-founder of Delivery Hero along with participation from Circ, Team Europe and new investors such as WestTech Ventures, Inventure Partners, Weller Venture Capital, and other Berlin business angels.
Rebike1 (Krailling)

Why its hot: Rebike1 specialises in selling used premium bikes online. With this platform, it is possible for interested buyers to save up to 50% on their favourite premium bikes. Also, it lets them live a sustainable lifestyle. In November this year, Rebike1 raised €4 million funding from Vorwerk Ventures and STS Ventures. Prior to that, in May, the startup raised €500k funding from Achim Lederle, STS Ventures, and Florian Huber.
GetHenry (Berlin)

Why its hot: GetHenry is a micro-mobility startup for businesses. It provides hotels, municipalities, and businesses access to micro-mobility solutions and services such as a fleet of branded electric vehicles and booking platform. Its mission is to reduce emissions in cities by promoting light electric vehicles and an efficient alternative to owning a vehicle. In July this year, the micro-mobility startup secured €180k funding from undisclosed investors.
