Founded in 2017 by Patrick Meutzner, Marcel van de Weerd, and Igo Trampe, Trengo aggregates all communication channels in one inbox to efficiently collaborate within customer-facing teams.
Recently, the company has raised €1.75 million investment from venture capital fund Peak Capital. With this funding, the company plans to expand its sales and marketing team and further improve its product. Along with enhancing their position in the Netherlands, Trengo will focus on accelerating its growth in Europe.
Patrick Meutzner, co-founder of Trengo:
We were not actively looking for funding since our business is growing fast, and we are already profitable. However, as we got to know Peak Capital, we were impressed by their knowledge and experience of how to scale our business even further. With our ambition of scaling Trengo internationally, we found the perfect partner in Peak Capital to support us in our journey.
For the uninitiated, this platform allows businesses and their sales and customer support teams to easily collaborate and improve their service by handling all client communication via one platform.
This Dutch platform also enables teams to automate conversations with their customers via chatbots and flowbots. Over the last three years, the founders grew the company to over 700 clients, while being bootstrapped.
On the other hand, Peak Capital is a European investment fund based in Amsterdam. It offers smart venture capital to European fast-growing early-stage Marketplace, Platform, and SaaS companies.
Johan van Mil, co-founder & managing partner of Peak Capital:
There is a tremendous growth of new communication channels in the client communication market, from live chat to Instagram. While there are solutions focused on improving one specific channel, Trengo stands out by enabling brands to handle conversations across all of these different platforms efficiently. We are impressed by the team and their ability to develop their product rapidly. More impressive still is the fast growth the Trengo team achieved without raising external investments.
