Last update:

With the rise in technology, the world of manufacturing and warehouse industry is changing. Right now, Robotics plays an essential role in materials handling, distribution, supply chain logistics, and will only continue to do so. This gives the workforce the tool they need to stay competitive in a highly automated, global economy.

Raised €7.8 million!

In this regard, the Warsaw-based startup Nomagic has raised $8.6 million (approx €7.8 million) seed funding co-led by Khosla Ventures and Hoxton Ventures. Other investors, including DN Capital, Capnamic Ventures, and Manta-Ray, all previous backers of Nomagic, also participated.

The Polish startup will use the funding support its product roadmap to enhance its simple, smart, and fastrobots, as well as expand to other sectors. Also, it will also allow the company to finance its deployments under subscription model. For the uninitiated, Nomagic provides smart pick and place robotic solutions for order fulfillment.

Automate tedious tasks 24/7!

Founded by Kacper Nowicki, Marek Cygan, and Tristan d’Orgeval in 2017, this platform brings efficiency, flexibility, and reliability to e-commerce warehouses. The solution automates tedious tasks while reducing the cost of fulfillment and allows warehouses to face a shortage of labor and scale easily to 24/7 operations.

Kacper Nowicki, co-founder, and CEO of Nomagic said:

The unique part of our solution is the focus on the reliability of our systems and the ability to minimize times when on-site operators have to take action.

As per the company claims, their artificial intelligence and cloud platform enables robotic arms to handle millions of products. Furthermore, Magicloader will determine how to pick products never seen before and detects rare anomalies. It inspects and processes them in a reliable and efficient way using AI. It’s worth mentioning that, Nomagic uses off-the-shelf hardware with its machine learning software.

Nowicki added:

Our advanced anomaly detection systems identify rare cases when something goes wrong, and these are handled autonomously by the robot itself or remotely by one of our operators.

Helping customers towards full automation!

The company also works with third-party logistics providers operating warehouses. Nomagic’s product can be integrated with existing storage, sorting, and packing systems, thereby helping customers proceed towards full automation.

Sven Strohband, Managing Director of Khosla Ventures:

The Nomagic team has made significant strides since its founding in 2017. There’s a massive opportunity within the European market for warehouse robotics and automation, and NoMagic is well-positioned to capture some of that market share.
