Berlin-based platform for early-stage research Morressier has secured €4 million investment round led by Cherry Ventures with participation from Redalpine. The startup will utilise the funding in expanding its technical team and upgrade the AI (Artificial Intelligence) system integrating multidisciplinary scientific content.
The Founding Partner of Cherry Ventures, Filip Dames said, “There’s a dramatic change happening in science and we believe Morressier is the right company to spearhead this movement. By gaining access to unique pre-published research from top universities and scientific institutions Morressier can determine trends and signals in science at a far earlier stage than ever before, giving the company a defensible edge in the multi-billion dollar R&D industry.”
Morressier – a content pool of early-stage research
Morressier is the largest platform in the world for early-stage research. It enables accessibility of latest research findings for researchers worldwide expediting scientific discoveries. The platform showcases conferences’ placards, presentations and theories along with datasets, videos, images and negative results. Besides, universities get an opportunity to exhibit their research content to the global science arena through the platform. Consequently, enhanced coordination is established between academic institutions, scientific communities and industries eliminating the hurdles of early-stage research.
Earlier, scientists took years to collect the initial data and research progressed at a snail’s pace. Further, the scientific observations and findings remained confined within the walls of conferences or the university labs leaving a small room for growth of science. This entire offline process has acquired a dynamic digital transformation with the introduction of Morressier.
Headquartered in Berlin, Morressier was founded by Sami Benchekroun, Justus Weweler and Rino Montiel in 2014. The startup is committed to offering specially designed software, innovative tools and enormous data for the researchers across the globe. Also, the platform has collaborated with pharmaceutical companies to widen its research analytics product.
Prior to the present funding, Redalpine and some angel investors including Jan Reichelt (Mendeley & Kopernio), Annette Thomas (Clarivate Analytics) and Jan Maier (AVEDAS) had invested in Morressier.
