With so many cars competing to rest their wheels after a journey, finding good parking spots in the city might be a bit tough. However, the Flitsmeister app that helped its users to be wary of speed traps and speedcams is now being updated with a new feature. The new option enables users to not only find a parking spot but also pay for it via the app. However, to be able to use the option, one needs to simply register for the app in advance and they will be able to pay for their car parking from within the app.
How to register for the service
Flitsmeister has tied up with the Belgian parking company 4411 to provide the parking service. One needs to register with 4411 to avail the services and this can be done in-app. The option to do so is in the top-left Hamburg menu and free of cost. Once registered, you can then find and pay for a parking space for your car as per your needs. Visit this website to find out the municipalities where parking is supported via the app.
How does the feature work?
Users can register as many cars, or number plates to be precise, as they want with the service. This process is totally devoid of cost. However, the app levies a transaction cost of €0.25 every time a user books a parking spot via the app. The amount is slightly lower than its competitors like Yellowbrick and Parkmobile.
If you already use the app, you might know that it also comes with a navigation option. Once the user reaches their destination, a pop up suggests finding a parking spot. Additionally, when the user leaves they will be served a warning to end the occupied parking. A provision to do this automatically is being planned for the app. Users can also choose to receive a notification about their ongoing parking action every 15 mins, 30 mins, an hour or every couple of hours.

What’s next for the app?
While the option for finding parking is limited to the streets, for now, the app developers are reportedly working on adding support for parking garages as well.
