Italy is under quarantine due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. The government of the country with a population of nearly 60 million has put the whole of its population in quarantine. As per the latest reports, over 10,000 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Italy and it is the worst hit European country during the ongoing health crisis. Also, public gatherings have been banned and there are numerous travel restrictions for travellers from Italy to contain the virus.
At this point in time, the digital health tech startup Paginemediche in Italy has come up with a chatbot diagnostic tool to find out the disease. This has been developed along with medical experts. Paginemediche is a digital health startup from Healthware’s portfolio of companies. Its chatbot was designed under the supervision of Dr. Emanuele Urbani, a general practitioner in Milan.

Paginemediche’s tool supports health emergency efforts by providing an online triage in the field of infection diagnostics. It was developed based on the guidelines set out by the Italian Ministry of Health. Also, it is used to support for telephone triage and highlight potential cases affected by the coronavirus. Besides this, the chatbot can be used to help healthcare professionals to interact with patients via remote visits.

The chatbot developed by the Italian startup Paginemediche has been adopted by the Lombardy region on its institutional portal and Provincial Health Services Agency in Trento. It offers a public health service directly on its website.
Works with companion app
Paginemediche has an app that lets GOS to carry out remote visits with a telemedicine service. It is available for free of cost and is meant to reduce the overall number of visits to the clinics. The intention of the app is to reduce the risks that can be caused by the additional foot traffic in increasing contamination between both infected and healthy individuals.
