Building a startup takes commitment and a lot of networks around your organisation. In fact, the proclaimed boom in startups scenario coincides with the emergence of contemporary players – accelerators. By and large, accelerators across the globe fuel entrepreneurs and startups with moral support and fresh funding.

Besides these programs assist startup with mentorship, free office space, business, feedback on the product, and access to investors in the form of a demo day. One such famous accelerators that have helped more than 200 technology companies over the last decade is Delft-based YES!Delft.

YES!Delft offers guidance and support to graduates, scientists, engineers and professionals in their startup journey. They additionally offer startup programs for tech startups in the areas of Blockchain, MedTech, Artificial Intelligence, Aviation, CleanTech, Robotics and Complex Technology.

Recently, YES!Delft announced a new batch of startups from its Accelerator Program, where they will be trained over a three-month period, with a tailor-made program to set the foundations of their business. Furthermore, YES!Delft’s Accelerator Program aims to help the startups hit the ground running in their market and enable them to grow to €1 million in revenue.

In this article, we have listed out the selected eight startups announced by YES!Delft for its Accelerator Program.

#1 HySiLabs

Founded by Pierre-Emmanuel Casanova, and Vincent Lome, HySiLabs delivers a unique hydrogen transportation solution: an innovative hydrogen liquid carrier. Based out of France, this startup has raised a total of €2.1M in funding over 2 rounds, with the latest funding raised on May 2, 2018, from a Venture – Series Unknown round.

#2 MedCore

In modern surgery, it is fundamentally significant that surgeons get a thorough insight into the patient’s anatomy using medical images. However, the need to remain sterile in operating rooms (ORs) means that surgeons are reliant on someone else to perform simple actions like zooming in on an image.

“My procedures would be greatly enhanced by an intuitive way of controlling imaging tools from inside the sterile zone,” says Maarten van der Elst, a trauma surgeon at the Reinier de Graaf hospital in Delft.

Our personalised OR dashboard, AirControl OR can be controlled by anyone from anywhere in the OR through sterile and intuitive hand gestures. MedCore is working in close collaboration with clinicians and hospitals to make this solution an essential improvement for any surgery and are open to new collaborations.

#3 Mythronics

Mythronics is an artificial intelligence platform which helps industries to reliably inspect, monitor and analyze their critical assets autonomously. This AI platform will simplify data processing tasks, generating reliable insight that will help experts predict the probability of failure and helping them to make data-driven decisions.

#4 Olympian

It’s an online platform that teaches AI in a new and unique manner. Together with university professors and industry professionals, Olympian produces concise videos, engaging quizzes, and fun assignments to learn AI within days. Headquartered in The Hague, it was founded by Akash Parmesar, Finn Boonman, Jackie Xu, and Niko van Meurs in 2018.

#5 Sophos

Sophos Robotics uses small autonomous drones for inventory tracking, which reduces lost inventory as well as warehouse downtime.

#6 Synano

Synano develops next-generation cooling fluids that contain nanoparticles, which remove heat faster than current coolants. With that being said, the Nano-coolants can make equipment smaller, faster, efficient and reduce your energy consumption.

#7 Phoenix Bone Tech (PBT)

Phoenix Bone Tech (PBT) is the first Dutch MedTech startup manufacturing dissolvable bone implants for orthopaedic surgery. In this case, the usage of magnesium composite implants eliminates the need to remove the implant because the material itself becomes bone. With this, we can avoid subsequent surgeries, implant failure and risk of infection.

#8 Praxa sense

Praxa Sense is developing Afi, a small sensor that a patient sticks on his arm and that helps general practitioners in early diagnosis of heart rhythm disease. With Afi, Praxa Sense introduces a long-term monitoring device that supports the first line care and smoothes out the patient journey. At present, the company is looking for general practitioners in co-designing and developing along the design process.
