Israel-based Electriq Global, a pioneer in Solid Hydrogen Carriers, announced that it has been awarded a €1.1M grant from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).
Electriq plans to build a Hydrogen Powder manufacturing plant on the premises of Zenith Energy Terminals in Amsterdam. The plant will be powered by Zenith’s renewable energy and is expected to commence operations in 2026.
The project arrived in the Netherlands with the assistance of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and its partner Amsterdam in Business (aib).
The project is in line with the vision of the Port of Amsterdam and the H2A association to convert the port into a central hub for hydrogen carriers. Their goal is to handle 1 million tons of hydrogen by 2030.
“We are thankful for RVO support,” says Baruch Halpert, Exec. Chairman & CEO of Electriq Global. “We first received great help from the NFIA during our move to the Netherlands. This grant is a further significant step forward in our successful collaboration with our partners in the Netherlands.”
Electriq: Developing unique technology for hydrogen storage
Led by Baruch Halpert, Electriq is an end-to-end safe Hydrogen solution provider developing circular green fuel solutions for the clean energy market.
Incorporated in Australia, the company operates in the EU from The Netherlands, with its R&D centre in Israel.
Electriq’s patented technology spans the entire energy ecosystem, including storage, transport, and release, with hydrogen at its core.
“This grant will enable us to continue the design and engineering of the first-of-its-kind Electriq Powder plant. Our breakthrough technology promises to significantly reduce production costs and drastically lower carbon footprint,” says Dr. Dmitry Lisitsin, Head of Powder Solutions at Electriq Global.
