Meet Volla Phone!

As an alternative, the startup Hallo Welt Systeme UG from Remscheid, Germany presents its first product on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter after more than two years of research and development: The Volla Phone.

As per the company claims, the Volla Phone offers a new, simple user experience by replacing the multitude of apps and cloud services and focuses on people, content, and activities. “The simplicity of pen and paper were the inspiration and set the standard for this new phone.”

Offers simple user experience with no Google Apps!

Unlike Android or iOS phones, Volla offers unique, simple user experience with instant access to features and information without the need for apps.

Dr. Jörg Wurzer, the founder, said:

“A new concept of the user interface should, therefore, create space for important things. All operating systems are based on apps. It’s time for something new.”

Volla OS!

Coming to the user interface, Volla OS is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and contains neither Google Apps nor Google Play Service. However, most of the Android apps can still be installed and used via an anonymous App Store.

Volla OS comes with a feature called Springboard, where a user writes what they want to do without having to call a specific app, for instance, to make a call, schedule an appointment or send a message.

The OS offers a quick menu that lets the user to access frequently used functions and content with a single, special gesture. On top of that, it includes automatic compilations of contacts, conversations (threads), and messages (posts, news).

Furthermore, this OS has the ability to automatically groups those people who you contact the most to call them quickly, write a message, or review the latest thread of conversation.

Decide with whom you want to share information!

With Volla Phone, you decide for yourself with whom you share which information and from where you get your information. According to the company, no data will be collected; no statistics will be tracked, and no need to set up a dedicated Volla account as well.

It’s worth mentioning that the Volla Phone comes with a pre-configured VPN, optimized for security where you only need to enter your access data. For the VPN, the company has collaborated with the leading provider Hide.me.

Wurzer said:

“In the long run, only an independent open-source operating system can ensure freedom through simplicity and privacy,”

Specifications!

The Volla Phone comes with a 6.3″ display with V notch, powered by MediaTek Helio P23 processor, has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with an expansion option. This device has a dual-camera setup with a 16MP+2MP rear camera and 16MP front camera. The entire hardware is powered by a 5000mAh battery that also supports wireless charging.

First step!

The Volla Phone is the first step on a path that Hallo Welt Systeme wants to give to other companies and foundations together with the community of users and developers. Hence the crowdfunding. “Big goals need cooperation,” says Wurzer.
