The COVID-19 pandemic has bought the entire world to a grinding halt. A considerable number of companies, regardless of their size, are taking all the essential steps to keep their business stay afloat. Recently, startups have been hit by layoffs, frozen hiring, made salary cuts, and much more as the novel coronavirus threatened to dry up funding and squeeze the business.

According to the national statistics office CBS, the Dutch official jobless rate rose to 4.5% in July, as the number of unemployed went up to 419,000. In Amsterdam, around 29,000 people claimed unemployment benefits, a rise of 53% on a year ago, says another report.
