The Netherlands-based HYPR Media Services Holding announced on Tuesday that it has acquired ToLocal to revolutionise the way agencies and national advertisers run hyperlocal ads.
According to HYPR Media Services, the acquisition will make it easier than ever for advertisers and media agencies to book print and online ads across 1,200 local websites and door-to-door newspapers.
HYPR Media, which operates under HMSH, is a collective of door-to-door publishers with over 65 per cent of circulation in the Netherlands.
The acquisition of ToLocal will enable HMSH to offer a comprehensive suite of local advertising solutions to advertisers and media agencies.
A household name in the advertising market
ToLocal has a proven track record of providing effective online booking tools to media agencies and advertisers, and its DeLocalPlanner has become a household name in the market.

The acquisition is effective immediately, and there will be no changes to ToLocal’s day-to-day operations, says the company.
Providing hyperlocal advertising solutions
Founded in 2014, ToLocal has been working directly with media agencies, advertising agencies, and advertisers to provide hyperlocal advertising solutions.
Frank-Paul ter Berg, co-founder of ToLocal, believes that the acquisition and collaboration with the company will help to accelerate the growth and embrace of local media deployments.
He states, “I am convinced that the market position of HYPR in combination with our organisation and the DeLocalPlanner is going to provide a huge acceleration in the embrace of and revenue growth in local media deployments.”
Frank-Paul ter Berg will remain directly involved in the further development of DeLocalPlanner, and together with Robert Franke, will form the management of HYPR.
