Last update:

Runners can access a huge amount of data about their every run. However, most of the information is inaccurate and lack a few insights to make them a better runner. NURVV Run revolutionises the way people run by capturing the metrics accurately and directly from the point of action at the foot. It helps them improve in an easy-to-understand and simple way.

Founded by serial entrepreneurs Jason Roberts and Ulrica Roberts in 2016, NURVV is a pioneer in the sports wearable biomechanics. It’s first product is NURVV Run, the patented smart insoles and an app to give real-time coaching to runners, improve their technique and avoid injury. It was unveiled at the CES 2020 in Las Vegas.

Secures €8.2M funding

The UK-based sports tech startup NURVV just announced that it has secured $9 million (nearly €8.2 million) Series A funding from Hiro Capital, a Luxembourg/London technology Venture Capital fund investing in the e-sports, digital sports, and games.

NURVV has revealed that it will use the investment to bring the company’s first product, NURVV Run to the global markets, fund further R&D into its patented biomechanics sensor technologies and to support the founders in reaching their aim of helping 10 million runners improve their technique.

Best of CES 2020!

NURVV Run unveiled last month at the CES 2020 received great acclaim and was featured on multiple Best of CES lists. It also won the US Today’s Editor’s Choice award that handpicks winners that strike a balance between design, value, technology, and innovation.

This product has been tested by hundreds of universities, athletes, and institutions including the National Physical Laboratory and SATRA Technology over the past three years. Currently, NURVV Run has been tested during the 22 million steps of durability testing and 30,000 miles covered on the road.

This system features 32 high-precision sensors fitted in lightweight insoles to capture data accurately from the feet 1,000 times per second per sensor. With this data, NURVV provides unique running metrics such as step length, cadence, pronation, balance, and footstrike. The coaching app shows a complete picture of the running technique of the wearer.

Furthermore, it uses advanced biomechanics to deliver actionable insights and personalised coaching that provides guidance on how to improve before, during and after a run. Notably, the real-time coaching creates a gamified speed and helps wearers run at a target pace, beat a personal record with responsive visual, audio, and haptic feedback.

Helps reduce injury

Besides helping runners improve their pace and technique, it helps reduce injury via the Running Health score. This way, NURVV reduces injury as it analyses each runner’s training load, cadence, pronation, and balance and identify problem areas before it turns serious.
