Before it’s time to head home for the holidays, several big events are still taking place around town this week. Responsible Data Science explains the pros & cons of Big data, EY helps startup check their financials, the Startup Launch Class students will pitch at their closing event and Startupbootcamp will host a FastTrack day for startups wishing to participate in ther 2017 Smart City & Living program.

Thursday Dec. 15th: Responsible Data Science Seminar Series

Big data. It is changing our lives as we speak and it will probably become even more important in the future. It influences the way we do business, how we socialize, the way of conducting research and how society is governed. But, despite its great potential, there are also many concerns about irresponsible data use. In monthly seminars, the Responsible Data Science (RDS) is giving a platform to different voices, with different opinions about big data and its use. And this week, Arno Lodder, Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation and head of the department Transnational legal studies, will speak about his.

Friday Dec.16th: Check Your Financials – EY

Are you a creative spirit but not so experienced when it comes to the financial part of starting a business (yet)? Then you should come to the office of EY on Friday 16th. Consultants of EY will help you out with your business model and further financial or juridical questions. As an extra plus, there will be a chance to win a 30 hours of coaching! After the session there will also be an opportunity to network and have a drink.

Tuesday Dec. 20th: Startup Launch Class

We already announced this event a few weeks ago, but here’s a reminder now that it’s almost here: On December 20th the ten teams that participated in the second edition of Startup Launch Class will present themselves. After successfully finishing this 10-week Lean Startup program by ACE Venture Lab, ING and Strategiemakersit’s time for the young student startups to show an audience what they have to offer.  During the closing event on Tuesday December 20, participants will pitch their businesses to a live audience.

Wednesday Dec. 21st: Startupbootcamp Smart City & Living program Fasttrack Day

If your startup would like to join Startupbootcamp‘s Smart City & Living program in 2017, then their FastTrack day is a great opportunity to find out if your company has got what it takes. There are only 10 spots available, but if you make it past the selection process you will get to pitch your ideas to the Startupbootcamp team and receive mentor feedback from them.
